Opening of the Library

From this week, the operation of the library at HKUST resumed. Due to the prevention of COVID-19, most of the facilities including library was closed in the last month. Although it’s partly get back to normal, some measures are introduced so as not to spread the cases. At the gate of the library, a camera is setting to check the temperature of visitors. The seats are partly available to let students sit separately. When I went to there in the evening on the last Friday, there were few students.

The great point of this library is that so many books, journals and papers are available online. Unlike Kobe University, what I was surprised about is that there are a lot of electrical books which are able to download as PDF files. Also, I can find most of the papers I want to read on the electrical library service. This helps me a lot to work on my research.

In the library, students are able to use computers (Windows and Mac). The spec of these computers is high enough to do a heavy work like video editing. Especially a Mac computer has 16G memory and 5K display with AMD graphics card.
