Arrival at Hong Kong : COVID-19 Test

In response to the pandemic of COVID-19, the Hong Kong government requires all in-bound visitors to undergo compulsory self-quarantine for two weeks. I, a international student from Japan was not the exception for the policy. Just after arriving at Hong Kong International Airport, I was sent to a nearby facility to take a COVID-19 test. As it was the first time to take the test, I was wondering what would they do to me. But the test itself was very simple. What I had to do was just put my saliva into a bottle and submitted it.

After that, I moved to a hotel in the neighborhood where I stayed overnight to wait for the test result. It was around midnight when I settled down in my room. They provided me with a simple dinner. The test of the pork made me realized again that I came to Hong Kong. I could not sleep well at that night because of the new environment and excitement. It was not until around 3:00pm that I knew the test result on the phone. A bus from HKUST gave me a drive to the designated hotel for two weeks self-quarantine which is located at the southern part of Hong Kong island.
